Server Not Available Error

Hello All!
First I have been working on this issue for about 3 days now and I am at my wits end. All of the solutions I have found in the forums do not seem to work.

I have a QNAP TS-453a that I just purchased and moved all of my media over to from a windows server. The router is properly setup and I can stream to ALL of my other devices without issue. With the exception of my Xbox One. :confused:

My Xbox One gives the “Server Not Available, There was an error communicating with server XXXXX” error.

I have tried;
optimizing the database
Rebooting the NAS
Rebooting the Xbox
Turning allow insecure connections to Always
Updating Plex to 1.0.0.2261
Plex app on Xbox appears to be up to date
DMZ the NAS
DMZ the Xbox
I have remote access turned off now (it didn’t work when it was on either and I prefer it to be off)
They are on the same network except the xbox is WiFi and the NAS is wired. (Several other devices in the house are WiFi and work fine)
Removing the passcode from the plea user account

Check the IP address of your server reported at https://plex.tv/api/resources. Can your Xbox One is on reach that IP address?

Having exact same problem. Worked fine and now it won’t recognize the server. So frustrating there is no support from Plex. Hopefully someone figures it out and is willing to share the answer for us because I just don’t have enough IT knowledge to troubleshoot this.

I have similar issue with a much simpler setup.

Running Plex from my laptop and works fine on laptop. Set up the Plex app on Xbox One and worked perfectly on day one. Both laptop and Xbox are on wifi in same network (same room).

Now on day two all I get from my Xbox is this error “There was an error comunicating with the server xxxx. You can retry or go home to selevt a different one.”

Literally nothing has changed overnight.

Would be nice to have a solution.

Quick update.

Restarted Xbox, laptop and router. Now Plex router does not connect even on laptop.

Error message is:

“The server “myservername” is unavailable Plex will automatically try to reconnect to this server”

I must say when I first heard about Plex and started using it it seemed to be exactly what I needed, boy, am I glad I did not splurge out on the lifetime subscription based on day one impressions.
