I recently installed Plex and created a stand alone server. It worked the first day, but now it will connect to the server to show content and the server shows it is connected, however on the xbox, I just get the spinning white wheel of non-progress. I am running a 32 bit Pentium 4 with only 2bg of ram. I suspect that is the main problem until I upgrade to a dual or quad core?
Although your server isn't ideal for transcoding, I'd still hope the xbox app would connect to it.
Please can you try exiting the Plex app from the main dashboard and restarting the app? If you could grab some PMS logs at the time you do this, it may offer some clues.
Thanks!
Neither my xbox or ps3 will connect to the movies. They will get to the home screen that shows all of the movies, but won't play them. How do I capture the logs? and do I just post them in this thread?
Ok, it may well struggle to play them if it needs to transcode from your server. There are details on recommended CPUs here:
And then there's guidance on how to get PMS logs here:

(Plex Media Server.log is the useful one here)
Here is the server log
This is the latest log. Same thing, it connects, sees the media, then when a movie is selected, the spinning wheel of non-progress. I also did the update before trying it again.
Yup, it looks like your server is trying to transcode, and isn't sufficiently powerful to do so. We should improve the app to actually tell you this, of course, but your logs show the problem:
/video/:/transcode/session/rb8lmyoumr9j/progress?progress=1.0&size=-22&speed=0.3&remaining=29468
The speed is way less than 1.0, so we can't transcode fast enough.
There's more info here:

You might have better luck with content that can be direct played or direct streamed, without transcoding, on the xbox one:

Hope that helps!
