Server settings & media libraries not visible

Server Version#: 1.30.1.6497-5fc2e0894

Hi all,

So yesterday my Plex Server randomly wasn’t appearing on anything but my iOS device. I could only access the server locally through my iOS app on my phone. I read on another forum that other users were having this issue and saw a suggestion saying remove all the authorised devices, then reclaim the server. I tried reclaiming it, and it seems like it’s worked since the server is now on my authorised devices again, but I still cannot see my media libraries or my Plex server. I’m not sure what to do now.

Could someone please offer some suggestions as to how I can get my Plex server working again?

Thanks

Hi OttoKerner,

Thanks for the rapid response.

I followed method 1 from the link you had attached and the software says that it has been claimed by me. Do you recommend I reclaim it anyways?

The main issue I was having which I may have not made clear (apologies for that) was that my media libraries are not appearing on Plex at all. I cannot even change the server settings (e.g. remote access, transcoder, etc.).

Could you recommend anything for this?

Try method 2.2 then.

This didn’t work.

Another user had the same issue but someone fixed it for them. I’ve attached the link to the forum below.

This is the exact issue I’m having. Could you or anyone suggest anything else?

Did you actually use the registry file from Method 2.2 and not just Method 2 ?

I tried method 2.2, nothing happened unfortunately.

Did you just import the reg file, nothing else? You need to perform all the steps from Method 2, the only difference is the .reg file.

Are you performing this on the physical server machine? Or is it remote?
Did you change something about your network recently?

I did everything from Method 2, but changed the .reg file to the one in method 2.2.

The only other thing I added to the reg file from method 2.2 was the “Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00” right at the top, otherwise it would not recognise.

I am also performing this on the physical server machine.

I haven’t changed anything recently.

The only thing I noticed was my server had updated to the latest version which had released a few days ago.

Before that, it seemed to be working fine.

Does your server have more than one network connection? Disable all but one – preferably a wired connection.
Check the properties of the network connection in the Windows control panel and ensure that it is classified as “private”, not “public”.

All done. Still no changes. My media libraries or the server itself are not appearing on Plex.

Do you still see the Plex task tray icon (and does it remain when you move your mouse pointer over it)?

Yes, the icon is visible on the task bar and remains there when I hover over it. I can interact with it (e.g. update plex, exit the app, etc.).

Try a different web browser. Chrome or Firefox without any browser add-ins.

I tried Firefox and Edge, but the server settings still do not appear.

I checked with the ClaimPMS4Win app and it says that the server has been claimed.

PMS Name detected as: Home
PMS detected as been claimed
PMS owner detected as: Miraj

The server just doesn’t want to appear though.

Do you have any other suggestions that I could try?

This is what my screen appears like every time.

I can see the icons of at least 2 active browser add-ins. Try disabling them

What happens if you use http://127.0.0.1/web ?

What is the local IP of this computer?

Is there a 3rd-party firewall software or anti virus software running on this computer?

Is there VPN software involved?

Do you have Torrent client software running on this computer?

I tried the link on multiple browsers with add-ons disabled. I also tried it on incognito mode on Chrome.

Nothing happened unfortunately - all browsers said “the site could not be reached”.

The local IP address is 192.168.0.231

I have disabled all firewalls and anti-virus software on this computer. There is no VPN installed. There is no torrent client software running on this computer either.

Even after all of this, my PMS is not being detected.

Any other suggestions?
