So I upgraded to 1903 because I’m dumb as hell apparently. This completely jacked my ■■■■ because by profile became broken and loaded some B.S. localtemp or some ■■■■, I don’t even remember. ■■■■ was broke, computer would reboot and then plex would think it was a fresh install again. I would update the advanced settings to point to my metadata and that would work until the computer rebooted and then it would fresh install again.
I deleted all the ■■■■, and attempted to install server 2019, but my motherboard has no drivers so that bit me in the ass. I went back to Win10, upgraded to 1903, now I get a new server install. I go through the motions, get it set up, then change the server settings to look for my old meta data. After doing that, the libraries are back, but server settings are unavailable. Can’t do ■■■■.
I’ve now upgraded to the latest server version that was released today, I still don’t have access to my server settings. What information can I provide so that this can be troubleshot?
I renamed my meta data folder with .backup. Relaunched the app and it creates a new Plex Media Server. Still no server settings, so it sounds like the meta data folder has nothing to do with this issue.
I uninstalled the server, then went into the registry and deleted all the entries there. I then performed another install. I went through the motions of settings up a “new” server. I then went into the server settings and changed the metadata folder. Stopped the application and relaunched it. It came back up with all my libraries and the server settings are still accessible. So I guess there was some corruption in the registry.
The Registry key is Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server
