I casually updated my Windows Plex Server and found that Server Settings were not available. I scoured the web. I scoured this site. I have tried all of the remedies that I could find including nuking the PMS install/regedit keys/files and restarting from a theoretically fresh install. Every current version of the PMS has issues. I tried 1.32.1.6999 and 1.32.2.7002 as fresh installs and they wouldn’t get past the “A Problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.”. So I installed 1-30-2-6563 and that would move past that point and I could fully set up the server and point it at libraries. It wasn’t serving files so well so I upgraded the PMS to the latest version through the web interface and I’m now stuck at “Server settings are unavailable” for any attempt to adjust the system. Yes, I’m using 127.0.0.1:32400 to access the PMS on the host Windows system. Windows is fully updated as well. I am attaching my logs from when I did the upgrade.

There’s a few different methods on this page that might help
I went through the process (I used method 2) on the site, used a private browser to the local 127.0.0.1 server and port, logged in, reclaimed the server and it’s still the same result.
“Server settings are unavailable.”
To be clear, I can get to the status pages (Dashboard, Alerts, Conversions) but the Settings pages (starting at General) all result in “Server settings are unavailable”
The agents aren’t starting properly, seems to be happening with a few people running Windows. Sounds like permission errors so could be a Windows update or you accidently ran it using the Admin/different user.
Another problem is the public IP changes part way through the startup, starts with the correct one and then it changes. VPN or Tailscale? But that messes with the ability to claim the server.
If you have updated to server 1.32.2.7002-86cfcc10c on Windows, stay away from it and downgrade a bit.
It appears to have an issue where access to the server settings is either timing out (i.e. returning “Server settings are unavailable.”) in general or is at least excruciatingly slow.
OK - I downgraded to 1.32.0.6950 and everything works again as expected
Plex Media Server 1.32.2.7100-248a2daf0 is still doing the same exact thing.
Same issue with mine. Hoping for a fix soon.
Sure seems like Plex a would make sure it worked with latest Windows before releasing it
