Server settings are unavailable

Server Version#: 1.27.1.5916-6b0e31a64
Player Version#:

Hi all,

I have updated to the latest PMS Windows version last Friday., since them I can’t access the server settings on any web interface I tried Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge.

When I click on the spanner on the web interface I can access the main settings page.
I can access all the pages related to my account, Plex Web and Satus (dashboard, Alerts, Conversion), but I try any page from Settings or Manage, I got the message Server Settings are unavailable.

I can see the green tick next to the Remote Access section.

I have tried to restart the server many times. I logged out of my account and re-log. I have re-claim the server but still no go.

Everything was OK before the update.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Just to make sure I understood this correctly:

  1. the server settings are showing
  2. when you try to access individual server setting sections you get an error message

Any errors showing in you server logs?

Hi tom,

Yes you are right. And now the server is crashing after one hour or two.
I need to complete restart the windows server to have it live again with issue to access server settings still there!

I can’t see anything from the logs. Which log file would you be interested in?

Usually you can post the entire zip file (if you can download the logs through the Plex web app) or zip the entire logs folder. For this kind of general issue it might be enough to see Plex Media Server.log and its “numbered predecessors” (Plex Media Server.[1-5].log).

Plex logs.zip (742.6 KB)
I have zipped all the files in the log folder.
I couldn’t use the option from the web interface as I can’t access it.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Those logs are quite full of errors where the server fails to communicate with its components. Does your system run any security tools that might interfere with Plex’ local and network communication on the server itself?

I guess this server is running on a Windows 8 machine? – not sure this will somehow mess things up…

I have widows sever 2012 standard on it (similar base as windows 8) I have installed Norton 360 on it… maybe I shouldn’t have…

I did the update this morning and I still have the issue with the settings!

I can see that few people have the same issue as me!

I tried as well to give my user full control on the drive where Plex data has been installed but the issue is still there.

Thankfully in the last 3 days the server has been stable but no accès to any settings.
