Server Setup missing on existing and new installs

Server Version#: 1.22 - 1.23.6

I’m having a weird issue with my Plex Server. I have a TrueNAS Server (TrueNAS-12.0-U4.1) that had a working Plex Server set up inside of a jail (not using the provided TrueNAS plugins). This was all working fine up until a few days ago when my server started showing offline. Nothing on my network has changed, and I have all of the static IP addresses, port forwarding rules, and firewall rules set up correctly (keep in mind, my server was working perfectly fine). I noticed that when looking at my account settings, the Server section was completely missing. At some point during my troubleshooting, my server disappeared entirely from the Plex app (both the plex.tv site and the local installation via IP address). So now I had a server that was inaccessible, with no way to access the server settings via the web pages.

Through multiple rounds of troubleshooting I went through multiple forum posts here talking about editing the Preferences.xml, signing out of my account everywhere, etc. Nothing worked. I also attempted re-installing the same plex version, upgrading to a new one, and downgrading to an older version with no luck. Eventually I tried spinning up a new server (both manually in a jail and through the plugins) and where I expected to get the Server Setup page to set up a new server, it just took me to the home page of Plex with the sidebar that I could click My Media and get a link to download Plex.

TrueNas also decided to delete both of my jails (I had re-named Plex to PlexBackup and I guess when I deleted the new Plex, it deleted both? But I lost my original install of Plex). Now, with no existing installation of Plex on my TrueNas server, I still have the exact same issue where no matter how I try to create a new server, I can never get to the Server Setup page, and I only get a home screen with Live TV and a My Media button I can click to get a download page.

I’m so confused as to why this is happening. Any thoughts or opinions would be great.

Got fed up with trying to use Jails and the TrueNAS Core Plugins, so I installed TrueNAS Scale, imported my config, and installed the Plex App in Scale. Used the claim token and it worked first try. No clue why nothing worked on Core (FreeBSD) on multiple tries, but it worked first try with Scale Apps (Debian with Docker). I’m chocking it up to an OS thing.
