Server showing as unavailable in apps

I too am going to try out JellyFin. Even after finally getting to browse libraries I hate the new UI. Just piss poor on the part of Plex!

We’re you able to run both Plex and Emby, accessing the same libraries without issue? Or did you shut one service down while switching between them?

You might try this, if you haven’t already: Logout of all devices using Plex, Go to Authorized Devices on the Plex Web Client, Delete the devices from the Authorized Devices, Login on the devices.

I’m having same problem. Server is on M4 mac mini. When I open plex roku app it will show and play recently added TV shows, so it does have connection to server, but when I try to go to libraries, it shows this message. And like you it is showing old menu items. I changed Advanced control settings in Roku. Main TV started working, but that is not working on other TVs in house all of which are Roku.

I changed a lot (updated PMS, Synology Libraries, and content) and have same error, but while looking around I came across your post. This might be interesting for you to try:

I have the same exact issue. But, select the …, and THEN select Comedy and Quiz from the pull down menu. Does that work for you?

That’s currently where I am. Doesn’t work from the Libraries submenu, but DOES work if I use … and then select the same exact Library.

Here is the status update of my exploration into Plex competitors. I have temporarily switched to Emby and removed my Plex server. After evaluating other competitors, I found that while some excelled in specific areas of the media server environment, the Emby server Roku app performed exceptionally well. It took me several weeks to fully understand the Emby Roku app, and I believe I am still learning as I use it. Despite this, I experienced no issues with Emby ingesting my media files and creating its database, likely because my media files adhered to the pristine Plex standardization format, which Emby supports. For those who utilize OTA and HDHomeRun, Emby integrates effectively, provided you subscribe to Emby premium. Additionally, Emby handles IPTV seamlessly and works well alongside OTA channels. The Emby server has proven to be solid, running on my bare-metal server for over two weeks without any problems. Although the Emby Roku app lacks certain features, it functions reliably, allowing me to navigate between items quickly and without issue. Its interface differs from Plex, and I find myself occasionally making mistakes in Emby due to muscle memory from using the old Plex app.

I don’t know what you did - I’ve been checking it every few days, but today, it is all working again. DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING. (I know, I know lol)

I still will try and install some alternatives so I can have backup if it all goes pear-shaped again. But before that, I’m downsizing all my belongings, selling my house, buying a new one and moving across the country alone. Widowhood is a PITA.

I’m just glad that now I can watch my stuff.
