From circa 24 Sept server has started to run comskip every night during scheduled maintenance and continues for several hours. All files are affected. I only have TV files but I suspect every file in the TV library are being processed (approx 50 recorded files).
I have all references to Ad skip and credits skip disabled (library - recording - and TVPVR settings all set to disabled. Previousl to this date (version) the has worked. FYI post recording comskip processing does not occur.
I believe that this comes default to “For recorded items” instead of the “Disabled” you would think it would be.
To configure this you need to go to EACH library of Movies or TV Shows Type and select Manage Library > Edit and then select the Advanced tab from the sidebar and scroll to the bottom. Should see an entry like this:
I thought that I had checked this but sure enough, all libraries were set set “For recorded items”.
I am surprised that something like this defaults to enabled out of the blue !!! Mine is only a small library. Others with large libraries may find this to be an annoying problem.
I will check tonight if the skip hunting has ceased.
