Server Version#:1.4.1.469-47A90F01
Player Version#:Home Theatre
I have a home cinema with a PC running my Plex server and the Home Theatre software with a skin etc, which has run brilliantly for about 15+ years and I have loved using almost every day of my life.
Tonight it crashed and went back to the default install and now when I try to log in it sits on a page saying retrieving code on the myplex log in part and doesnt get a code.
My server is ok, the app runs ok, but no content, & login page hangs on this MyPlex log in retrieving code… When I click on MANUAL and enter my PlexId and password nothing happens. Help please
Has this part been turned off, can I run this in the future without signing in, if I want to. The player doesnt see the server even though the IP address is correct and port etc.
PHT has been declared deprecated already for years. Now it is the time when the server and the cloud infrastructure behind Plex have evolved so far, that PHT cannot cope with it anymore.
If you need a 10-foot-UI and you don’t want to migrate to a nVidia Shield or a Apple TV, Plex Media Player in ‘TV mode’ is your only option.
YES< I have solved this problem, at least for now. Plex Open PHT DOES still work ok. It does not seem to get hung up on that code thing.
Its is actually better than PHT original too. Its feels faster, more responsive and has quite a few skins which are way easier to set up and install than original PHT.
I think Open PHT is also no longer worked on, but that doesnt matter to me as it works, it works well and I am very happy with it.
When you have a proper home cinema set up with a big projector screen, decent sound system etc, you really need something a lot mor impressive looking than the drab Plex screen.
It is sad that Plex only service the masses now, as I was an early adopter and was responsible for an awful lot of people signing up to Plex, and feel sad that they abandoned the original home cinema enthusiasts like me.
VERY happy with Open PHT though, and just hope that it keeps working.
