I can’t even sign in to my server on the local machine. That’s unacceptable. Signing in locally shouldn’t depend on their servers being functional.
And why does the status page show everything is at 100% when it clearly isn’t?
Yeah, my Tivo app was acting up as well. Was receiving 500 reports and now a down for maintenance. I then fired up a browser on my phone to view these forums and when it tried to authenticate me, I received the same down for maintenance error. However, on my desktop (currently typing from) I must still have a valid auth token so I am able to respond. That plex.tv application that is down has an info icon mentioning authentication and system setup, which could explain why some people, myself included, are having issues with remote access. Could also explain why an app might work until you need to reauthenticate, and then it would fail.
I just want to add that it seemed like remote clients that were already connected continued to work without interruption but new connections couldn’t be made. For what it’s worth.
It’s a sign of how dependent we’ve become on Plex (and how awesome it is!) that when it goes down my phone blows up and everyone starts freaking out.
not at all. I completely deleted the server and settings. i’m on osx. and reinstalled the latest version. fired it up and went to preferences. i log in with my plex account, and instead, I get:
"No soup for you!
The server you’re trying to access doesn’t want to let you in. Make sure you’re signed in as a user with access to this server."
I may be doing something wrong. but this doesn’t seem right.
My plex server runs on a dedi 10Gbps Linux box. for hours I could not log into plex it remotely , But within the box I could.
As of right now I was finally able to do the plex server update and everything seems to working fine again. Issue had to be on there end IMO.
