As your problem is unrelated to the issue in this thread, I’d highly recommend you start your own thread. You’re far more likely to get help that way.
Oh, and when you do so, please remember to tell us about your setup, else you’ll likely get told not to turn your Wi-Fi off 
I’ve been having so many problems and still am in the new year. My servers are in top order. I’ve checked all the permissions and the installs are done properly.
I imaged my server with a clean 16.04 Ubuntu, set up UFW to allow the port’s needed, installed plex, Added libraries (double checked permissions) and added my movies. I even was able to optimize for TV to test that I could read and write them. For a few moments it worked on my TV and Phone, but I went to another Roku TV in my house and logged in and it stopped working. Then I went around the house and all the other devices had dropped off. It’s not even seeing it as a server anymore. Authenticaiton errors on those that still had it in the list.
What a mess.
