Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: (various)
What is being done to correct the issues with the latest Plex Server Update. My remote users are limited to low definition by the transcoder. I have performed all recommended fixes (port forwarding, NAT issues, etc) with no luck. I have even rolled back to the previous version and keep having the same issues. What is the ETA on some kind work around?
could you elaborate please on what your problem is exactly. And if there is an issue get server logs for the time of the issue and a detailed description of what the issue was - what time - on what device / app and what was expected to happen

Thank you for your prompt reply. The issues I reported are occurring on all devices not on my home network. From the web portal, on roku’s, smart TV’s etc. I’m not the best code dissector, but I noticed in there that some mentions of “sloth mode” and “Throttling” at the moment a user tries to access content. I’ve uploaded my logs (I think). If you could take a look I would greatly appreciate it. Plex Media Server Logs_2020-06-30_16-57-22.zip (7.0 MB)
Im having an issue after the latest update also. I have done nothing on my end and all of the sudden issues started to pop up after the update. Half the time I try to connect to my sever, it will not connect at all. When It does connect, it is a Relayed Connection with Limited Quality 1 Mbps, and is almost unwatchable quality. I have 3 devices I have been using for a couple of years. Roku Stick +, Vizio Smartcast TV and Tivo. All 3 were working well until this latest update. I have been trying for the past two weeks to see if I can solver the issue on my own, but with not luck. After reading many online posts, it appears all the suggested fixes are not working. Is Plex going to issues another update to fix this problem? Any help would be much appreciated, Thank you.
sa2000:
Yes, I was giving the 1.19.5.2916 update a try since no other solution seemed to be working. I will reinstall the 1.19.4.2935 and generate some logs to upload.
sa2000:
I reinstalled the 1.19.4.2935 update and now remote access has stopped working. Remote users show an authenticated user sign in on their end, but now libraries are showing “Unable to connect to “Movies Servers” securely”. When I try and enable remote access through Plex Server GUI, it appears to connect for a few moments (green check), but then fails back to “not available outside your network”.
If I roll back to the previous version; I still see the “not available outside your network” error message, but users are at least able to access the server, but with minimal clarity (Transcoding down to a super fuzzy SD).
As I have mentioned above, I have eliminated the “double-NAT” issues and performed the recommended port forwarding (with no success).
I kept the server connected long enough (by manually connecting over and over and playing a movie from a remote machine) to attempt access one of my server libraries and play a movie. In the server log on July 2nd, at 8:15, I see a mention of “sloth mode”. (including the logs now). Plex Media Server Logs_2020-07-02_08-20-15.zip (6.0 MB)

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!!! As it turns out, my area was indeed thrown under a CGNAT blanket. I called into the local NOC (turns out the tech on duty is was someone I knew) and had my IP address corrected. Thank you again for your assistance!!!
