So, this has bugged me for a while. Whenever I do a server update, all of my library settings (19, in all) get changed to “Recommended,” and I have to go in to each one and change them back to “Library>Album (or Library>Title for movies).”
Any way to not touch this when updating?
Thanks
Well, I thought Feature Suggestion was better than Complaints
(Where do you suggest I post this?)
I’m on Sever 4.146.0. I almost exclusively play my libraries on my Apple TV 4K (latest OS). And that’s where I have to change my library settings after every update.
Thanks
Okay, I guess it’s just me…?
@shmengie
Are you changing the PMS setttings in Plex/web – Setttings - Server - *** ?
-OR-
Are you changing the AppleTV settings with each update (much more common) ?
Hey Chuck:
Yeah, everything looks good in PMS. I have to change everything in the ATV app. Sounds like you get what I’m talking about: Each update hard resets the settings of each library back to Recommended. End of the world? Nah. Annoying? You betcha!
Thanks
@shmengie
Yeppers… AppleTV is annoying as …
It seems that when the internal settings variable change, it simply starts fresh rather than ‘migrating’ to the new structure like PMS does with database upgrades.
I don’t know if that’s an Apple restriction or not. I’m an OS guy so don’t know internals of the apps.
Hey Chuck…I appreciate your jumping in. I’m not sure it’s an OS thing, per se. It feels more like a Plex app thing. Like, the devs have hard-coded a preferences flag to 0, or something like that.
Either way, thanks for the input. Somehow, I will survive this minor inconvenience!
