Server version 1.40.3.8555 seems broken

Server Version#: 1.40.3.8555 (x64)
Windows Server 2019

My server has been extremely reliable all these months until Plex server 1.40.3.8555 arrived and tried to automatically install itself one night. Next day, I noticed my Plex server was down. When I checked, an error message was on the screen saying “The code execution cannot proceed because opencv_core455.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.” Upon clicking OK, another box appeared saying that another DLL was not found, and then the same happened again a third and fourth time, and then no more errors.

When I tried to run Plex server again, the same thing happened, meaning I could not start Plex server at all. So I restarted Windows, same thing happened. I decided to reinstall Plex server, same version 1.40.3.8555 and the problem was fixed and my server was up and running again… or so I thought.

Two days later my server went down again. Upon checking, same error again. I had to reinstall Plex one more time. However, I didn’t want to be running around in circles. It seems there’s a problem with 1.40.3.8555. So I downgraded to 1.40.2.8395 and it has been stable so far. I changed my configuration to prevent automatic updates so it wouldn’t upgrade itself to 1.40.3.8555.

The only difference I have noticed is that 1.40.3.8555 seems to be a 64-bit server (it installs in c:\program files), whereas 1.40.2.8395 is a 32-bit server (it installs in c:\program files (x86)).

Has anyone been running 1.40.3.8555 reliably?

Just an update: This is Day 5 of no issues with my server after downgrading to 1.40.2.8395.
