Server Version 1.40.5.8897 Motion Smoothing

Since updating to server version 1.40.5.8897 i’m now seeing a ton of motion smoothing (soap opera effect) added to my shows which is highly annoying.

I’ve checked and even reset my tv/input setting and it’s not coming from my tv.

I attempted to update to the beta 1.41.0.8911 to see if there was any change but there wasn’t.

Can someone please look into this bc motion smoothing literally makes me dizzy and this is a major annoyance.

Motion smoothing / interpolation is a feature on your TV’s side. PMS does not have a feature like this nor does it have any control over this setting on your TV.

Recheck your TV settings.

Please see above where I did that.

I’ve also restored all TV settings to factory defaults and then set them back.

There is a significant difference in motion smoothing since this update, I’m not sure what happened but it’s definitely with the server update.

I’m hating it so much, is there a way to downgrade?

Yes, just downgrade your server version and you will see if its really related.

EDIT: You don’t have a Roku TV, do you?

No it’s not a Roku.

Where do I get an old server version? In Plex Server there is only a check for upgrades link
