Server went wrong. Please install manually.

Thanks in advance.

I am currently using the free version of Plex.

It appears that the server component of the software has died. In short

  1. going to localhost:32400 works
  2. going to plex.tv clicking launch works on the localhost.
  3. As per the attached picture. In Server / General it says:

Version 1.9.2.4285 Something went wrong. Please install manually.

The link it takes you to is the full system software download.

I have downloaded Plex-Media-Server-1.9.2.4285-9f65b88ae a couple of times and tried both the repair option and the uninstall/reinstall option. To me it appears to be this one issue, does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi Andy

I should not have posted my first post when half asleep. I missed half of the information.

  1. Connecting via http://localhost:32400/web/index.html works
  2. Connecting via the launch button on plex.tv works on the local machine
  3. Connecting via [IP]:32400/web/index.html does not work, even on the local machine.
  4. The ps4 or phone/tablet cannot connect via either the app or the web browser.

I have followed you above instructions and the error message has gone. Although nothing can connect at this stage. Time to nuke windows and go with a reinstall?
