I have the latest version of Plex, installed yesterday… i put up a library but it showed everything as individual files…
not in the folders they were sorted originally…
like - all seasons of MASH - episode by episode - instead of a folder with subfolder for season 1 and so on…
figured out how to sort by folders - but now the library only shows the top files - and nothing else…
tried updating the libray - no go…
What Plex client app are you using?
There is a view by Folder option - but viewing by folder is not the normal way of viewing for example a TV Shows library
In Plex Web when viewing the TV Shows library, you have options to view by TV Shows or Seasons or Episodes or Folder but Folder is not the way to use Plex. Folder view is more suitable for personal media eg Other Videos category
I am using version 3.57.1
and i am talking about the server where i put in my libraries…
I have a HD and since there was mostly movies, i cose movies… and entered the entire HD…
is this where the problem lies?
that i should have entered one and one folder/series i.e “mash” or “Band of brothers” -and as you say - either as movie, tv-show etc?
I also found somwhere that if i delete the folder from library -to “start again” - it will also delete everything on my HD?? is this correct?
move your movies to a directory like D:\Movies and TV Shows to D:\TV Shows
and the path for your each library you setup would be for example D:\Movies for the movies library and D:\TV Shows for the TV Series
Then within each have movies each in a directory following naming convention
For TV, each TV Show in a director and below that each Season / Series in a directory and within that each episode
It is specified on the naming standards support articles
