I would like to be able to set 4:3 to 14:9 aspect or wide zoom, without this old 4:3 content looks bad with the big black bars on the sides. Kodi has this. This needs to be in a place in the GUI and as a global 4:3 aspect setting to have more control over mixed content libraries.

The TV mode of Plex Media Player already supports this.
Try tapping the Z key during playback.
There is also a preference for this.
You can also double click / double tap on the screen to swap between the views.
The issue with always having to go change it is , having to always change it between 4:3 only items and regular playback. I would even love it more if the setting “Force 4:3 video to 16:9” was replaced by a more useful setting that does not make gnomes and dwarfs out of everyone. “Force 4:3 to 14:9 or Wide Zoom”.
Still cannot set the if 4:3 video forced to wide zoom… I dislike seeing all 4:3 stretched to 16:9 makes everyone look short and wide. When will this be added so that I dont have to change this on every play when I watch 16:9 shows then watch older 4:3 shows?
Like I said KODI has this it allows setting 4:3 forced to 14:9 or wide zoom. It is the lesser evil in fitting to screen with a bit lost at top and bottom to keep the aspect.
