Hi! Just installed Plex, I want to create a separate tv show folder for my daughters collection of tv shows. I’ve added a ‘shared kids television shows’ folder on my Plex folder on my WD NAS, set the file type to tv shows, but Plex will not allow me to choose the folder to pull the media from, instead it automatically pulls files from the ‘shared television shows folder’ - so its pulling through game of thrones for my 1 year olds library. Any suggestions on what I’m doing wrong. The support pages show you can browse to folder but this doesn’t seem to be an option! Please help! Many thanks
Thanks Otto, so even if I’ve set up as a new folder (not within tv shows) but under “plex>shared kids television shows” next to “plex>television shows” and named the corresponding folder correctly, it wont pick up due to the device im storing on? whats the best work around, should I use collections to tag all kids stuff or should I use the home movies folder and rename? really appreciate your help!
You cannot change the library folder assignments.
You have a Plex Pass, so all you can do is to ‘label’ all those shows which are suitable to your kids and ‘whitelist’ those labels. Or use the age classification of the show/movie whitelist those.
