Set up problem/issue

Hi,

After a frustrating couple of hours of trying to set up plex on my system, and then finding just a load of gargled and quite useless information here, i can pretty much admit that punching my monitor (although painful) is a great idea!!

Im operating Windows 10 with plex downloaded to that, and my library is all formatted properly, yet when i click the my library option, i just keep getting the download plex server message, which has already been done!!!

All the setting’s are correct so im at a loss on why it does not work. Incidentally, i had the same issues when i tried setting it up early last year, decided it a waste of space and deleted it. Same is about to happen, so this is a last shout for help!!

  1. If your server is located on your home network, make sure your home network is using a “private” IP address space. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network
  2. use a web browser without any add-ins.
    Disable any VPN software.
Make sure that your computer doesn’t have any entries in the hosts file which may re-route any Plex-related domains.

Thanks, will give that lot a try and let you know if any work or not. Fingers crossed lol!
