Plex Media server not showing

Media server is running but is not long visible from an app. When I try add media it says I need to install the server…

So far so good, deleted the entries, server appears again, I assume I have to claim it. Claiming it however just repeats the issue.

P.S: are you using an IP range in your local LAN thatr is not designated as a “private” IP range? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network

My local LAN isn’t in those ranges.

That claiming tool keeps throwing an error, Input string was not in a correct format…

You are not using a private IP range?
Then you’ll have to establish a tunnel connection from your desktop computer into the server. As explained in here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288586-installation#toc-2 “on a different network”

I urge you to change to a private IP range, if this is indeed a private network.

IP range is 100.0.0.0/24

Just to be clear, is my IP range the problem here?

Indeed.

FYI: This IP range has been assigned to Verizon. So If you tried to reach a host at their network, you would fail.

Wow ok, interesting, will change my range then try again.

Simply changing it to 10.0.0.0/24 would work

Ok that worked, server is showing now but now the libraries aren’t loading, get this error

After changing the IP range in your router, don’t forget to reboot the server and then after a few minutes, all other devices in your local network.

Since your server now has a different address, you need to reset the side bar and home page of all your clients:
