Setting up Folders for Movies, TV, etc

Hello All,
I currently have all of my movies on two drives, and my TV shows on one drive.
I have over 2500 movies, a combo of MKV (BluRay) and SD movies in 3 folders named “Movies, Movies2 & MKV” and I let plex do its thing.

However I am getting a little tired of scrolling thru trying to find a certain movie, is there any real benefit to doing something like this:

#Horror
#Military - War
#Comedy

how do you folks have your media setup? or is it just better to leave everything in one folder and just use the alphabet to look for the movie?

Thanks for reading my not so smart post

The best answer is going to depend on what clients are being used.

For me I have a couple of Libraries setup to split somethings out:
Movies
Movies - 3D
Movies - Children
Movies - Christmas
Movies - New/Recent
Movies - UHD

The first category has everything in it. And the rest are semi-self explanatory. Where I run a little different is how my folders are actually stored on my server. For example the Movies folder actually points to ~15 Folders. These are where I sort my movies for myself on the server. So with that I can use the browse by folder for additional filtering based on my categories. But typically, if I have a specific movie I will either use search or the letters on the bottom.

I cant really use the filters themselves as my library is a bit too big and they start causing issues.

The other thing I have done is for the movies my kids really enjoy I placed them all in a playlist so they’re easy to get to. They typically like to watch the same movies repeatedly so a playlist on random works pretty well for me.

thank you for the reply. that is what I have been doing all night, moving my movies into individual sub folders, such as:

children movies
super hero movies
westerns
military - war
MVK (BluRay)

I too have a large library and am trying to make it a bit easier for me to manage on the back end,
