Was hoping someone could give me some suggestions on a program and setting you use to convert your uhd movies to MKV to be able to stream and fast forward and rewind.
e.g. I have been trying to convert the load of the rings 2160 7.1 to direct play through plex to my nvidia shield.
Everything direct plays. no transcoding. all good. Except we want to stop in the middle of the long movie and restart it later. I can not fast forward or rewind. Not even a few mins let alone 60 or 90 mins fast forward. It looks like it is fast forwarding, but it just appears to hang.
I assume I am converting it to something not able to be rewinded or fast forwarded.
