I'm brand new to plex. I installed the app, paid for the pass and was bragging about it. Now today it's not working after I rebooted my computer. Installed on a second computer same issue? is this a bug fix - only paid for the pass to watch on xbox.
I suppose we’re beta testing this pre-public release. Not sure why it’s so unstable. Hopefully it will be sorted in an upcoming server release. Plex works solidly via my Roku and iPad. Completely the opposite on the 360. Just can’t get the thing to run despite hours of fiddling with settings and rebooting.

+1 for another user with the same prob.
On a 360, 192.168.1.* subnet, 0.9.11.1 server.
Reinstalled/restarted, but still get “Server not available” message and ”server 0.9.10.2 or higher required". Auth via PIN (don’t know how to enter user/pwd, since it doesn’t ask for it).
I am UK based and cannot get the Plex for Xbox 360 app to connect to my server I keep getting server unavailable version 0.9.10.2 or higher required I have 0.9.11.2.xxxx I am connected to Plex.TV and my server shows as online on Plex.TV and works on my windows phone and android tablet and 2 nowtv boxes my router is an ee brightbox 2 on fibre optic PC in win 8.1 fully updated PC is Ethernet to router Xbox is 360 s and WiFi please help
I am also having this issue. Was running older version of PMS v0.9.9.x or something. Installed Xbox 360 app, saw error message “server version 0.9.10.2 or higher required”
Proceeded to upgrade PMS on qnap NAS to v0.9.11 from plex pass section, reinstalled Xbox Plex app, to no avail.
I subscribed to plex pass just to use this, seems busted, wasted subscription until fixed
I am logged to into plex pass on PMS however it complains about connecting thru FW despite numerous attempts to uPNP, port fwd, even DMZ (no filtering) to no avail
Any ideas of the issue. Sounds like a bug?
I too am having issues with the 'Server Not Available' on a 360, altough i'm really new to PLEX i can tell i'll really like it once i get this going
I am running the PMS on a unRaid server
I am running a pfSense firewall
My internal network IP's are 172.#.#.#
Here is a link to images of the set up, http://imgur.com/a/e9is9
Am I the only one that finds it kind of ridiculous that i just can't point the 360 to the server IP address on my local network, Both of these devices are located on the same subnet and they are physically about 15 feet from each other. I don't see why I should have to open ports and enable all the NAT stuff on the WAN side my firewall to get this to work. I understand having the feature of being able to connect to the server from anywhere, but if i don't want to do this, which i don't, i should be able to point the XBOX to the local server.
I have restarted everything a couple of times, i have tried using the pin and my password to sign in with on the 360. i have deleting the 360 off the 'Settings > Devices' screen on plex.tv and tried everything over a couple of times. The odd thing is on the XBOX at the top middle of the screen, above where it says the server is not available, its shows the name i gave my PLEX server. So clearly the xbox is signing into my plex account and can see my server.
The only reason i spent money on the Plex Pass was for this feature, to stream to a XBOX. The HT app on my PC works flawlessly.
Thank You for your time

I have the same problem as well. All devices except my Xbox 360 work (i.e. Note 3, Galaxy Tablet 3, iPad, and Samsung 3D tv). I upgraded to Plex Pass for this reason as well. Hope it's fixed soon.

Disconnect your xbox 360 and when you go to connect it, instead of typing in the code plex gives you, just enter your username and password.
Fixed it for me.
*edit* right you did that... hmmm it worked for me
Guys, I'm pretty unhappy with the state of things regarding the Xbox 360 client.
I paid $150 for a lifetime pass on this only to run into multiple issues, but this one is the biggest. I've read problem after problem just like this one. I have absolutely no issues connecting via the IOS client and the Android client using the exact same network. Additionally, I can see in the device list where the Xbox has hit the server and registered as a device. Actually, the device list shows I have TWO of them, because I uninstalled, deleted all of the profile data from storage on the Xbox (it was 124kb after I uninstalled the client), rebooted the Xbox, then reinstalled the client and signed in again via username/password. Its still saying my server is not up to date.
I'd be a lot more accepting of the "beta" state of things, if I hadn't paid for it yet.
Details:
Server is version 0.9.11.1
IOS client 3.5.2.1
Android client 3.6.0.263
Samsung clients - 1.015 and 1.016
They all work (one of the Samsung clients is painfully slow and just about unusable, which is why I'm trying to use the Xbox).
Like others here, I'm pretty computer savvy and manage my own network. I'm confident that my firewall is set up correctly based on the number of devices that do see the server correctly (both internally and externally when not on the network). Also, like others, my firewall can't currently support a loopback/hairpin like some others. It shouldn't have to if the client is written properly.
Last detail - all of this is running on the same internal subnet in the 192.168.x.x private range, and I'm using PAT to allow access into the appropriate ports on the network.

I suspect this is actually a requirement currently. If I disable NAT Loopback, mine stops working properly.
I'm guessing it's because plex.tv/web resolves to your external IP address and that's what's getting passed to the 360 client. Without NAT loopback working, it will fail.
This is purely speculation though, I have no real proof other than what I've tested myself.
Same issue here - Can't connect
Server Version 9.10.2 required - I am on current version. Have restarted PMS and XBOX 360
On XBOX 360 tried logging in with PIN and Password - no change. Different XBOX 360's wired and wireless (shouldn't matter but wanted to mention it)
I even started to look at my router settings - (I shouldn't have to create an exception rule for one client when all other clients can connect fine) then decided if I have to change my internal configuration - this app has a bug in my opinion.
I find it strange that no one at PLEX can repro this initial connection problem. As I have read through the other issues people are having with video quality / trans-coding problems and audio issues, I am not feeling like this is even worth troubleshooting further.
If Plex is waiting for enough users to report this issue before it's considered a priority I would like to know the proper way to report problems.
It's just disappointing - I have been a huge Plex fan for years and love it!
Gotta realize even if they find the bug today, will take weeks for them to submit the changed app to Microsoft to get it pushed to us (the users). Microsoft is notoriously slow in their app approval process.
+1 on the issue
Can I get a refund on my plex pass payment until it's fixed please?
I am experiencing the same issue with "Server Version 9.10.02 or higher required" when trying to access Plex Server content from XBox 360 (as an aside, viewing content through System Video Player over DLNA works fine)... Here's my data if it helps...
Environment:
QNAP TS-469L, Firmware Version 4.1.1 Build 20141101
Plex Server Version 0.9.9.14
XBox 360
Plex for XBox 360
192.168.1.x IP addressing
Troubleshooting steps:
Restart Plex Server on QNAP TS-469L
Remove/Reinstall Plex for XBox 360
Signed in to Plex for XBox 360 with user account versus registration code
Looking forward to getting this fixed.
Thanks,
Steve
Environment:
Plex Server Version 0.9.9.14
Looking forward to getting this fixed.
This might be your problem...
That was it - thanks bmupton!
Also having this issue. My server works on everything other than my Xbox 360.
Server Details
Plex Server Version 0.9.11.1
Plex Server OS Microsoft Windows 8.1
Troubleshooting Steps Attempted
Signing out of Xbox 360 app and using alternate signin method
Reinstalled Xbox 360 app
Rebooting server application
Rebooting computer with server installed
Reinstalling server application
Additionally, both my Xbox 360 and Plex server are hard wired into the same router.
I am using 0.9.11.4 - no issues at all.
I had to set port forwarding on my router to my PMS on port 32400 for this to work, even though they are on the same router.
