I’m having severe buffering issues on my Roku devices when watching live TV through Plex (HDHomerun Connect 4K). The issue may be related to a recent update to PMS and/or Shield experience, although I can’t confirm as I do not regularly watch TV on the ROKU devices and only noticed it yesterday.
The issue basically goes like this. Start Plex on the Roku and go to live TV and DVR. The player buffers a bit and then starts playing as normal. Anywhere from 1-4 minutes later it will buffer again for about 10-20 seconds, and then automatically resume play. This process continuously repeats and eventually errors out after 30-60 minutes.
I am running PMS 1.25.3.5385 on an nvidia Shield (running Shield 9.0.0 (33.1.0.236)). The Plex player on my shield is 8.28.0.30077 and I have no buffering issues when watching through the shield. I also have no buffering issues when watching through a Plex web app on a PC over a wifi connection.
On the Roku devices , the buffering occurs as described above (I have several for different rooms and each has the buffering issue). The Roku devices are 3930X Roku Express running 10.5.0 – build 4208-AE, and the Plex player app on each Roku is V6.9 – build 14), which I believe is the latest version.
Anyone else seeing this and/or have any suggestions?
