I am having an issue when I watch my local library and a friend of mine is watching at the same time. When I check plex it says both are direct play (not transcoding) and both of us are using Kodi on firestick to play plex. On my side it constantly buffers to the point I can’t even get a movie started. I’ll text my buddy and he says his side is playing just fine. My setup is as follows:
External HDD plugged into 2013 iMac with 16GB RAM. (yes I know it’s an old computer lol)
Internet speed is 225mbps.
Everything is up to date software wise.
It doesn’t make sense that the local library that is on the same network as the server is the one buffering and the remote play is playing without issue. When I check my activity monitor on the computer I am using less than 1% of CPU. I have set Plex as a higher priority using terminal on the Mac. Disabled transcoding. I’ve searched and can’t find anything. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
