After each update of the server there is a database update that takes some time to finish. Just don’t try using Plex for half an hour should make things work without reboot. I did not try vobsub for some time, but maybe look at your transcoding options (auto, forced, never).

Thanks for the information! I can’t get Vobsub to work on the Shield interface whatever I do. It works though on my pc interface and on my telephone interface, just not on the Shield.

In fact I found out that vobsub are working, just that they are produced with a huge font size and when not able to fit in the screen it’s not shown. I think best to make a specific topic/big report for that.

Just for anyone wondering. I just updated the shield to 9.1 , updated the Plex App and the Plex Media Server. It wasn’t working at first but i left it a while (around 10-20 mins) as per some advice id seen above and its all working.

For those still on 8.23 - I have a 2017 Shield Pro with 2 attached USB drives that store my collection. I updated from 8.23 to 9.1. Upgrade went smoothly, and happy to report after 48+ Hours, my server has been functioning perfectly with no issues at all.
