I am stumped and need help (thx). I had to re-set up my entire system and my shield pro (running plex server) does not detect my movies. (It has detected and played movies fine for years)
I also have Plex server installed on a desktop and it detects all my media fine but the pc is slow so I prefer to to use the server installed on the Shield Pro.
My home videos show up perfect and play perfectly
When I scan the network drive, I see all the movies listed during the scan however they never slow up on the library after scan is completed.
Any Ideas what it could be?
Again, i just needed to re-set up the system and all the firmware is updated to the latest version etc. Nothing has changed in how I label the movies etc…it has all worked perfectly in the past and technically still does on the Plex Server installed on the PC…The problem is with the Plex Server on the Shield Pro. I assume it’s a setting that I have screwed up…Thanks for your help! (it’s driving me crazy)
I am having the same issue. I have added two new movies (already have 300+ movies in the library with no issues). The two new movies do not show up at all. Have tried multiple scans and even created a new library for movies and moved the two movies to another folder. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
However, when I add them as “Videos”, they do show up and play fine. One file is HEVC h.265 4K. The other one is similar but h.264.
I am using Nvidia Shield connected to my Synology NAS (not running PMS on the Synology).
The Library not updating prompted me to 'Re-do" the whole system. (Update all software etc.) I had exactly the same issue you are and I have spent days trying to fix it. I have external network drives shared from my router and I am running PMS on the Shield Pro. It has worked great for years. Can anyone help us? (thank you)
It is the recent one, but version number has not changed even after the hotfix. What is displayed as version and checksum in the top line of your PMS log? It should read Plex Media Server v1.13.4.5271-200287a06 than you are definetly on the recent version
That helps…(thanks) …I have gone to App store hit ‘Install’ and it gave me a message that app will be installed or something like that. It doesn’t seem like it’s really done anything. I have downloaded logs and I have 133 of them…which one should I look at? Thanks again…not really familiar with this since I have never had a major issue.
In principle if you go to the play store and to my app and see that PMS can be updated, do it
If it is not there, then you already have updated and you are on the recent build.
The build appears e.g. in the Plex Media Server.log
Then you are on the recent build. Maybe do a reboot or two to settle things if you recently updated. Apart from that, at least this issue should not occur anymore if it worked before.
