Shield TV Pro (2019) - Crashes when ended playback of 4k HDR video

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: 10.7.0.5386 (Plex for Android TV on Shield TV Pro 2019)

The Shield is connected to a Samsung HW-Q950A soundbar and then to a Samsung UN49NU8000FXZA Flat 49" 4K UHD 8 Series TV, all via HDMI.

My Nvidia Shield TV 2019 Pro has been running great for years, but I’ve just recently started to try and play 4k video on it and have been encountering an issue that I haven’t exactly found elsewhere online.

I can direct play 4k HDR mkv files on the Shield from my server (Synology DS 918+) no problem over WiFi. Plenty of bandwidth to spare and the movies play just fine. I can pause the movie and resume usually without issue. However, whenever I hit the back button or reach the end of a movie, prompting a return to the Plex menu, the picture always freezes, audio stops, and after a few seconds instead of returning to the Plex menu the Shield just crashes completely and seemingly turns off. The only way to get it back on is to unplug and replug the power cable. Playback of the same files works just fine on the Mac Plex client, so I’m pretty sure it’s not the files, the server, or my network. It seems like it has to be the Shield itself or the Plex app on the Shield.

My only thought is that this could be an overheating issue, but it seems strange that it would only happen when exiting the movie and not while actually playing the movie itself, which I assume would be far more taxing on the device than going back to the Plex menu. I suppose that’s still the case, but it seems equally plausible that there’s a bug in the Plex app that’s causing the crash when attempting to switch

Any other ideas? I have a log file from my most recent attempt playing a file this evening.
