Shield TV (2019) freezes almost instantly during 4k playback

Hello,

Just hooked up a brand new shield tv (non pro). The only plex settings i changed was HDMI passthrough to enabled and display information. Local quality and audio quality is set to maximum. It was working fine with 4k but now when i start to watch a video the loading screen comes on and kicks me to the plex main page. the power button on the remote works but nothing else. I have to physically unplug the device and plug it back in to restore any functionality. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to no prevail. The 4k movies work fine on the plex app for samsung smart tvs as well.

Any tips or help is greatly appreciated

Edit: just came across a reddit thread stating the non pro is plagued with issues for Plex. Sooo nvm.

I have the same problem, turn off the new video player in settings.
