Is there any decent solution these days? Plex crashes constantly on both my 2017 and 2019 pro’s, and here recently when it crashes during DV content, I have to power cycle the stupid thing to get it to come back on. Have older ATV4k and it works great in my living room, plex has never crashed once. I don’t think it’s a plex problem.
There a decent alternative in 2024 that has all of the plex playback features?
That’s a problem on your end. Something else you have installed on the Shield, poor file formatting, server issue, etc. No such issue at large at all.
if you’re not bothered about uncompressed audio passthru then the current AppleTV is a fine device, however i wouldn’t use the plex client as it’s essentially junk, use Infuse as your front-end player
It’s not the Shield that’s the problem. Try clearing the app cache or reinstall the app completely.
