Should I buy a NAS, and if so, which one?

Hi,

I’m loving PLEX and currently have Plex Server installed on a Shuttle PC (Windows 10), which is used as purely storage for the files and running the Server. I have Plex Media Player installed on Smart TV, MacBook Pro and Apple TV in the house, and on an iPad for when I travel and want to watch content from outside the house.

I’m debating moving to a NAS to store the content and running the server, in order to benefit from the automatic backup and ‘always on’ functionality - too many times the PC runs automatic updates, restarts and I cannot use Plex without logging into the PC again, when that happens when i’m travelling, I lose Plex entirely.

Any advice on whether NAS would be a good solution for me, and if so, which NAS should i go for? Most of my content is 720, I have very little 1080 or higher qualitty content.
