I have synology DS1520+; INTEL Celeron J4125 Geminilake. Running Plex Version 1.29.2.6364. with all videos 1080p h264.
I haven’t upgraded because this has been a very statble version, no issues really. Apart from slow loading at times. However, I have seen many other people have issues with upgrading to 1.32 and higher and its a pain to go back to a stable version.
Thoughts on this ?
Been having this same question. Been running version 1.29 on a QNAP NAS for some time now. It’s been very stable and I’ve been reluctant to update until I figure out a way to block it from doing all that analysis for intro and credit detection during the update process that I am going to want to turn off anyway. However, today the search function on my Plex install has started going screwy (sometimes returning results that aren’t in my media collection, and sometimes not returning any results for things that are in my collection), so I’m thinking it may be time to bite the bullet and update. Just trying to determine whether the current/latest version is stable. Also would love to have someone explain how to stop it from doing the intro/credit detection thing up front, instead of waiting for it to do all that and then trying to turn the function off afterwards.
I too have noticed the SEARCH function is not working. I did a search on the plex web and it found nothing. I don;t use the search function but still that was weird, but using the search function on the plex on the Roku Ultra works fine.
Thanks for the confirmation. Search is not working on Plex from my PC in my web app/browser, but does seem to be working on Plex on my Roku TVs. I found some threads/announcements on the forums about versions 1.32.6 and 1.32.7 having been pulled down for various problems, but it wasn’t clear to me whether there is actually a final/stable latest version available at the moment, so I suspect I’ll just hold off updating a bit longer and just not try searching on my PC for now.
Hardware accelerated transcoding for J4xxx CPUs is not working in current releases.
Do not upgrade past 1.32.1.6999.

FWIW, I’m still running 1.29.2.6364 on my i5-10500T/Ubuntu system. It is a very stable release. The only major feature missing is credits detection which was added in 1.31. I’ll upgrade at some point, but right now I’ve no compelling reason to do so (Too many years in IT. Only upgrade when necessary.).
The Plex Media Server release notes have info on the changes with each release.
