In spotify when you have various artists sampler and you click on the artist name, you’re transfered to the site with artist info and all albums and samplers where the artist appears on. I am bit confused as I am unable to reproduce this behaviour in Plex. When I show all tracks from some artist, Plex lists the whole various artists collection as every song has album artist ‘Various artists’. So there’s no way to list songs by artist unless you try search field or Filter. Am I stupid or I am doing something wrong?
Unfortunately you found one of the current shortcomings of Plex.
Organization in Plex is only possible by AlbumArtist.
What you want to do is at this time not possible in Plex.
That’s really sad news as this couldn’t be so hard to implement. I came to PMS as Spotify and other services are removing a lot of previously liked song which I have in my own library, but this functionality should be working as basic. As I said… it’s sad
