Show not on TVDB.com so it won't scan in my library

Hello,
I am trying to add a series of videos called “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG”. A lot of the Ghost in the Shell shows are on TVDB.com, but not “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG”. Because of this, I am unable to scan the files into Plex.
Can someone explain if there is another way to get the scan to see the files?
Thank!

If the data at The Movie Database is to be believed, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG is the second season of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, which is present on TheTVDB.

That being the case, the episodes should be named like:

TV Shows/ <--- Library points here
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (2004)/
          Season 02/
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex - S02Eyy - Episode Name.mkv

The “yy” represents the episode number within the season; the " - Episode Name" part is optional.

Plex should still scan the files. They’ll just be shown as an unmatched show.

Correct. TheTVDB will consequently merge new seasons of existing shows. Don’t be confused by the Anime practise to give new seasons a different (sub)title. If the story is a direct continuation of former seasons, thern it makes sense to merge them.

Thanks everyone. After I reordered it like philipsw suggested, the scanner picked them up properly. Like OttoKerner said, I was trying to treat them as two separate shows because of the naming.

MovieFan.Plex - For me, that was not the case :frowning:

It might have merged the episodes with another show, so it just appeared that they weren’t scanned in.

Or were you not using the SxEy format for naming the files? PMS will skip files if it can’t determine they are episodes.
