Hi
I have a folder named ‘Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex’ containing each of the episodes of that show. i have another folder named ‘Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG’ with each of the episodes in it but I cannot get this folder to show up permanently in the view.
I’ve tried renaming the folder and each time it shows up briefly and then disappears when i click ‘TV Shows: Update Library’.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get this show to appear as part of my library?
Thanks
Plex uses TheTVDB for tv show metadata.
GITS SAC is one show with 2 seasons
the “2nd Gig” is not a separate show but simply ‘season 2’ of GITS SAC

So organise and name your files and folders accordingly.
- Look up your show on TheTVDB
- Take the title as it is used on TheTVDB. If there is something in parentheses, take that too. If the title contains invalid characters (depends on your file system), like
§ : % *, simply leave them out.
- Check the naming and the folder structure of your show. Name the top folder of the show exactly after the title on TheTVDB. No abbreviations. No additional subfolders. No aliases.
- Name the episode files according to the above linked naming guide. Use the same title as for the top folder.
Show's Title - s01e01 - additional info.ext (’- additional info’ can be left out)
- After you corrected the naming and folder structure, perform the Plex Dance with all files for this show.
Filebot can make the necessary adjustments in a very short time.
