Shows crash after pausing.

First all, great job with this.

I finally got it installed and working yesterday.

Works great, only thing I notice is if I pause and hit play the the video crashes.

I start a tv show, hit pause, 5 min's later hit play and it crashed. It plays after I start it again with no problems.

I paused 2 out of 3 shows last night and it crashed with both pauses.

Thanks

Are those shows transcoded? Or in a format natively suitable for aTV?

I believe they were 1080p videos so the my atv 2nd gen would have to transcode them.

Not necessarily, i am sure the ATV2 can play some 1080P files, it just is limited in what it can output (it will have issues at very high bit rates though).

True.

Like I said they do play fine, as long as I don't pause them. It's a little thing but can be annoying when watching a long movie. Got burned twice on my GTV with the latest plexpass preview releases but that seems to have been fixed.

This happens to me too.  ATV2 playing 720p video files.  I can post further video specs if someone thinks it'll matter.  What I've noticed is that when I play the video after being paused, the total running time listed on the ATV for the video file has switched to the current place in the video stream, and then the video ends, as if Plex thinks it's reached the end of the video.

For example. if I pause a 2hr movie after only 1 hr, when I hit play again, The video file is only shown as being an hour long.  It will then stop playing.  I'm able to start it right back up again where it left off by playing the video file again and choosing "Resume Playing."

Just wanted to contribute that little bit and say you're not alone, OP.

Yep I noticed the same thing here, not a big deal.

I think this is an issue with the ATV not handling the atv.player.states.Paused, I’ve asked Elan what exactly we should be telling the transcoder when a video is paused. Hopefully I’ll have an answer and a solution soon.

There is a new github commit that now correctly sends the paused state to the transcoder to stop it from timing out. This should solve the pause issues you are having, please test it out. Thanks.

Thanks!  Will test tonight.
