Shuffle doesn’t work anymore. Every time I click shuffle it says “unable to play media”. What happened?

I’m having the same problem. It suddenly won’t let me shuffle episodes :confused: I’m hoping someone knows what has changed in just the last few days that’s caused this to happen.

FWIW: My server is running on a windows 10 machine, and I’m using a fire stick.

Some more details would be helpful. Which client are you doing this on? From where in the app are you trying to shuffle? Which server version are you running?

Plex server is on a dedicated qnap server running Unix. I have multiple devices running Plex, and the only one that isn’t shuffling tv episodes anymore is a amazon fire connected to my bedroom tv.

I second the firestick problem. I don’t have the issue with it on web client. It also started after plex asked if I wanted to use the new player mode - so now it doesn’t shuffle, and plays things with abysmal quality unless I change the playback quality individually every time.

IF I disable the new player mode, then I cannot watch anything, everything goes to ‘Unable to Play Media’ error.

Server version Version 1.7.5.4035

So I guess I’m screwed and the shuffle option is now dead on my fire? What’s going on PLEX???

I’m having the same issue on my fire TV cube. have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no luck.

Shuffle also broken with the “unable to play media” error. on Amazon Fire devices.

This is done from the Show all content in the library scree with the shuffle option being in the rop right area of the screen.

Also why was the option to request a re-scan of a folder removed from the Fire App?

Same isue here.
Just reinstalled my server to Windows 10,but importer the setings from old server, så it did not fix this isue.

Also having troble casting to chromecast

Same here. Its not working on any of my devices, Android phone, LGTV, Firestick or iOS devices? Server is on a Mac pro 3,1 .

Is there a particular related logs that i can upload to help resolve the issue?

I’m experiencing this with the Android App. I tried a reinstall but no dice

Ok I had the same problem with my nvidias and even with the cell phone. I just updated the server on the nvidias, eliminated the plex app and installed it again and the shuffle is working now. Same with the cell phone, deleted the app and installed it again. I hope this help to the most of you

So I downloaded a NEW version (7.28.0.15501) and I’m able to shuffle again!
This version isn’t in the play store yet so you’ll just have to search for it as I did!

Edit: its available in the play store now
