I have a library of music videos and when I try to shuffle through the library, sometimes it just stops, and won’t continue. It doesn’t give an error, it just won’t automatically go to the next file. Since it didn’t do it with all files at first I thought there may be something wrong with the files, but when I do the same thing on the windows app the shuffling never stops. Any thoughts of what could be happening? I haven’t tried it on any other apps yet, just the fire TV and the windows app.
I’m using fire tv 4k and fire tv stick on 2 separate TVs. I believe it’s the app that’s the problem as I’m experiencing similar issues on both but not on my android phone/tablets, windows player app, web player or TV player apps (both TVs are smart and have their own apps). Sometimes when at end of episode, it reaches 0:0 then just goes on minus with a blank screen, sometimes it shows the “Play Next” screen but it skips the very next episode and goes to the one after next. This is random with various TV Shows and doesn’t happen on any other player. At random times the app restarts itself in the middle of a movie and just goes back to Home.
I think it’s been fixed. Two days ago the Fire TV had an update, and since then plex has been working fine, shuffling through videos without stopping. It may have been a Fire TV software issue and not the plex app after all.
Anyway, update your Fire TVs and hope that fixes it for you guys as well.
It is still the same…firecube is updated with the newest firmware, server updated to its newest release and plex is updated to its newest version and the only way to watch a movie from beginning to end is by selecting old player and setting the network to 4mbps 720p otherwise with various settings the most I’d get is 35 mins before the movie (any movie) stops / freezes.
720p with plex is like watching standard definition on firecube.
Think its time to just move on.
