Side-Bar Alphabetical Navigation

Some one has changed the Side-Bar Alphabetical Navigation, (on the server side) so that when you click on a letter to jump to that area to view movies, instead of jumping there, I have to wait for the silly thing to scroll to the selected letter.

Example: Lets say my Plex movies are at the top of the Alphabetical list and I click on let’s say “M”, (instead of just jumping to the beginning of the “M”) I have to wait for the list of movies to scroll by till it reaches the beginning of the “M”. This has to go! Very annoying, and inefficient!

+1 I landed on this post hoping to find a setting to turn that off.

Have checked my server reaction to Alphabetical Nav and it is working fine. Very responsive and jumps to the desired Letter.

MacOS 11.4
iMac 2020 i5
Server Version : 1.23.2.4600
Plex Web: 4.57.4

You have to give some more information of your set up

Mine comes and goes - randomly.
There one minute, gone the next.

If that’s how it’s designed - it’s working perfectly.

So works as expected…Lol :grimacing:

I’m running Plex Mac server ver. 1.23.1.4602.
Mac OS X 10.14.6
Mac Pro Mid 2012 12 core
Checked for any newer update, an it says I’m current.

Also had a weird issue happened when I upgraded to this last Plex Server update, were it screwed up one of my collections, were it had 215 movies in it, after the update, every movie on my server was added to it, 1800+ movies.

Ended up deleting the collection, which then removed the collection tag for the from all affected movies.

As far as the navigation issue, it still persists as discussed earlier.

PS: I noticed this navigation scrolling issue show up several months ago, in the Apple TV Plex navigation, it’s now been added to the Mac server side, (very annoying!)

Have you tried Restore defaults for Plex web or Deleting Plex Cache

Are you referring to the “reset customization” button under the Plex Web general settings!

I see this issue also when looking at a friends Plex server via a web browser, (friends server is windows based) however I’m not seeing the issue when viewing my server, or my friends Plex server via Plex mobile iOS app, were it still jumps to the selected alphabetical navigation letter, (instead of scrolling.)

My web browsers of course are Mac based, Safari. Tested it on Firefox, still scrolls on Firefox, but much faster, so fast that it’s almost as fast as an instant jump, the way it used to work.

Seems this could be an issue with Safari, which is also a current version on my Mac, (update recently) but doesn’t explain the Apple TV scrolling navigation issue?

Not so

Tried it, made no difference!

Still scrolls in Safari and FireFox.
