Subtitle support in Plex seems really picky.
I have a set of videos that my GTV (Revue) box will play in DirectPlay mode (source files are mp4 and mkv), but it won't show the subtitles unless I force the client to transcode mode.
Other files it plays in transcode mode and shows the subtitles just fine (When it can find subtitles)
Can you guys include a way to simply force subtitles on regardless if the current "mode" will support it? Even if you have to send the subtitle file separately and force the client to side load the file.
Other request would be to be able to force the server to go and get subtitles for a given video and then include it in the source directory where the video is (properly renamed).
