FYI, the log files did not upload.
Thank you, now it should work.
I had the same issue, Plex either quit/crashed 4 times in 6hrs since installing Version 1.30.1.6497 via Plex update. I just manually deleted the app and downloaded Version 1.30.1.6497-5fc2e0894 in Safari and re-installed, at least the app date is now showing correctly as before it was defaulting to 1970s.
Will see how it goes now, but may have to revert back to 1.30.0.6486-629d58034 if this keeps happening. I’m on Mac mini 2012 MacOS 10.13.6.
Thanks, Luke
I reverted back to 1.30.0.6486-629d58034, still randomly crashing. Nothing has changed on the Mac since this started this week.
Log files attached. It’s crashed at least 5 times now since 2022-12-16. I’ve updated to the latest version again 1.30.1.6497-5fc2e0894.
Having the same issue using a QNAP NAS.
Plex Media Server.1.log (96.1 KB)
Plex won’t even start today just crashes straight away, restarted Mac multiple times no idea what’s causing this. Restarted modem, network switch too - still just ends up not responding. None of the crashes are appearing in the Crash Logs folder.
Mac OS 10.13.6, and Plex Server 1.30.1.6497-5fc2e0894.
Get the lovely spinning beachball over the Plex finder menu bar icon, and Activity Monitor just says (Not Responding). Is there any terminal command I can run to see what’s going on?
I think I’ll create a new thread for this, as my issue is in MacOS and this is tagged with Windows. I also just disconnected all external hard drives and have Plex Server started now, looked at logs nothing pointing to any specific file causing issue, but suspect that’s the cause. Will add each drive one by one to see issue.
Problem solved on my end, appears to be a corrupt file/files related to iTunes library.
Similar to the thread maybe: Plex Media Server Crashing On Library Scan
The crash is due to missing database data for a music album and scheduled tasks loudness analysis
Dec 17, 2022 18:34:23.435 [13100] DEBUG - Butler: Scheduling loudness analysis for album 163314.
The issue will be fixed in version 1.30.2 - you can send me a download of the database and I can identify the music tracks that have the issue in the database
Hello and first of all thank you. So glad to see this issue solved.
Could you please tell me how can I send you a download of the database to you?
Thanks again!
You have disabled server debug logging
Please see https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/ for ensuring server debug logging is enabled. If it was disabled, please restart the server after enabling so that fresh logs get created
and after a crash restart the server and download the server logs and attach
As you are running with crash reporting disabled, you should be able to find the crash mini dumps within the Crash Reports folder after a crash
See this article on finding the path to the Plex Media Server data directory
Where is the Plex Media Server data directory located? | Plex Support
There would be a Crash Reports folder and below it a release folder and PLEX MEDIA SERVER directory with the .dmp files
Please zip and include with the server logs zip
Through Plex Web Server Settings page, select Troubleshooting and then on that page, select Download Database
Upload the zip to google drive / dropbox etc … and send me a download link by Private Message through the forum
