Since updating Plex media server on QNAP remote access doesn't work

I logged in remotely to my plex server using the web portal perfectly two days ago, when i got home from work i opened plex up again, this time locally and it showed i had an update to install.

Ever since i updated the media server i have been unable to connect remotely, the plex portal gives me the error “server unavailable”. I can log into the server using the myqnap cloud perfectly, but plex won’t connect.

Remote access says that it is signed in, but it is unavailable outside of my local network. I have tried reinstalling plex, checked for double NAT (single nat confirmed) i have tried forwarding ports and have tried stopping and starting the services, all to no avail.

Has anybody else experienced this? and if so how did you solve it?

I have tried installing the old version as that is what is available in the qnap store and it still doesn’t work, i have also checked that upnp is available on the router and its turned on.

The auto configurator always worked before and have had no issues before. getting very disheartened over not being able to sort this.

Does turning the remote access off and on make it try to reconfigure itself? if not how can i force it to do this?

I am just popping in to say I am having the same problem under the same circumstances.

I am also having the same problem all of a sudden after an update and no network changes. I installed another Plex server on a different machine, but same network and that works OK.

One different between the systems appears to be the “Public IP” on the remote access page. It should be the same for both servers, but on the QNAP it is showing something different. The IP on the working Plex system is also what shows up on whatismyip.com and canyouseeme.org.

That would suggest this is a Double NAT situation, but I’m lost as to where.

I can’t turn on the remote control on my QNAP either. Did you find a solution ?
The IP showing on canyouseeme.org and whatsmyip.com when I reach them from my computer isn’t the same shown as public IP on my QNAP Plex server

Exact the same issues as above, if anyone has since discovered a solution it’d be appreciated.
