Skip intro is gone from all

PlexMediaServer-1.25.4.5487-648a8f9f9-aarch64

For some reason a few server versions ago all of the skip intros that had been done are gone.
How can I get the skip intro back for them?
Also a series of a TV show that had zero problems playing, now it is very slow to start the show, constantly stops and buffers, the TV is wired directly to the router, not wireless. It also happens on a wireless connection on another TV. Playing them directly and not through Plex they run fine. I had made no changes to the settings. All of my other TV series play fine.
The wireless TV is using a Roku 4K for it’s connection the wired TV is a Samsung TU8000.
It’s only the TV’s doing this. The player on the computer hooked up to the Samsung TU8000 doesn’t buffer. I checked for app update for the TVs and there was none.
The skip intro is gone for all devices.
So, how to get the skip intro back, and how to fix this new buffering?

Can you pick an episode you know to have a 20sec+ intro in its first half and look at Get Info > View XML? Does the XML still list a Marker element w/ a type=intro attribute?

Have you maybe disable Enable Intro Detection in the advanced tab of this library?

There is no “type=intro” anywhere in the XML
I had not disabled “Enable Intro Detection” I looked and it is still enabled.
The Intro detection is set to as a scheduled task and when media is added.

Maybe we can take a look at your server logs

  1. verify your logs are set to include debug and exclude verbose logging in Settings > [Server Name] > General:
    • check Enable Plex Media Server debug logging
    • uncheck Enable Plex Media Server verbose logging
  2. Go to your show and select Analyze from the show or a season context menu (not on the episode level)
  3. Wait for Plex to finish any activities and give it 1 minute to update the logs
  4. Download your logs from Settings > [Server Name] > Manage > Troubleshooting (Download Logs)

Okay, I will get the logs

There’s a ton of logs in that zip file, which one do you want to look at?

Relevant information should be in:

  • Plex Media Server.log
  • Plex Media Scanner.log – preferably also the numbered versions
  • Plex Media Scanner Matcher.log – preferably also the numbered versions

I have noticed the same. I was able to skip intros on Episodes, but not any longer.

Well, after doing that “Analyze” my Skip Intro is back.
It didn’t do anything though for the TV series that slow starts, buffers, and hangs that didn’t happen previously. I may delete that series, then add it back to see if it is still a problem, sigh lol, it’s 80GB for all the seasons in that series.
