Hi, can we please have a sleep timer in settings? Roku doesn’t have one and people often fall asleep while watching TV Shows on Shuffle/continuous play or listening to music on shuffle. Would be nice for Plex on Roku to just exit once the timer is done, go back to main menu. Doesn’t need to be a fancy Netflix style “are you still watching” option. Just a simple timer e.g. 15mins, 30mins, 1hr, 2hrs, 5hrs. Maybe trigger the timer dilogue when someone hits “Shuffle” so that we don’t have to remember to go to setting each night and set a timer before bed.

Plex is looking to add something like this to all clients, it’s called post play. A few clients already have this. https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202605013-Play-Queue-Post-Play-Screen

yep that would be great on TvOS and Roku, and if it applied to Shuffle or continuous play. For instance, shuffle Seinfeld or Family Guy episodes, stop playing if you fall asleep.

Has this topic gone anywhere, or just died a slow ignominious death? I REALLY need a way to put a timer on music playing. Am using an old iPhone as my player, which I control from my Android to talk to my Plex server, and output from the headphone jack of the iPhone into my home sound system, which has no timer function. Any helps are greatly appreciated.

The post-play was implemented for basically all Plex clients. However, that only deals with video. We don’t have any similar feature for music. Interesting thought.

We need a Sleep-Timer (especially for MUSIC/audioBOOKs) in PLEX! Its an important feature even audible has done it.

Like most post I’ve seen here now since I started using Plex yesterday they all die out. Doesn’t feel very professional…at all!

A sleep timer is a must. Plex been playing Blacklist all night because I fell asleep during.

I agree Plex Team needs to address this. It could be a simply timer that simply pauses anything that is playing after time “x”.

I’ll have a sleep timer later today or tomorrow, super simple setup, you need one free app and my batch file that’s it. with it you can specify the time you like your computer to shutdown from Plex Media Player!

Yes we need a sleep timer for audio! Lots of people go to sleep with music or audio books. It’s a major impediment for Plex being used more widely for music.

Any update on this. I could really use a sleep timer in Plex when listening to music. I like to fall asleep listening to music, books, meditations etc. I want my music to turn off after 15 min. The best invocation of this feature I have seen so far was on the smart audiobook player app for Android. The audio would slowly fade after a configurable period and you can simply wiggle your phone to prevent it from stopping. Plex would be perfect if it had something like this.

Please add a sleeptimer up to 3 hours for audio. I absolutely need this because i use plex for my audiobooks.

Agreed. Sleep timer please. Super valuable feature. Also audiobook media type. Treat audio files like TV. Multiple chapters/parts (episodes) go into a show. Multiple seasons are multiple books in the same series.

Yes, please add this feature to your app. It would help not only audio playing but also videos.
