I have the movie (DVD) – NOT the TV Show – of Sleepy Hollow converted to MP4 using MakeMKV and Handbrake. I’ve loaded it into a folder like all the other movies and attempted to move to my “Holiday” folder. It will not show up on my PLEX screen (both server monitor and TV via FireCube).
However if I move the folder to my “Movie” folder, it shows up just fine. Can’t figure out why? It’s converted like all my other “Holiday” movies, titled the same method. No spaces or symbols or…
Any suggestions? I’m running Plex on a Windows Server.
You might also want to make the folders and movie have the year. Depending on the agens you have set for your library, they can be picky. So it becomes
If you add a movie to a library, and then move the movie to a new folder (in the same or different library) the meta data of its location does not change. You have to do the plex dance to get it to refresh the data:
Also, it’s an MP4 file. Embedded title fields will likely bork the match, as if not having a year field didn’t do that already so move Local Media Assets to the bottom of all active agents, under every tab in TV Shows and Movies.
Settings/Agents
I would do that before the file is re-added, in the middle of the Plex Dance.
Holidays is the same level as “movies”. I just have my christmas (and hopefully a halloween) movies in there to separate them from the regular movies. So if I moved to holidays it would be:
I’m not clear what you’re saying; but all of my files are mp4. Hence the confusion. I have done portions of the “Plex Dance”, so I’ll follow your instructions and see if that helps.
