I am experiencing extremly slow downloads on the Plexamp iOS app (latest built) when I try to download files at home via WiFi. My Synology NAS is running the latest PMS.
I did see and read the other thread but it didnt provide a solution to my issue as I am not able to configure my broadband router for DNS Rebinding.
Is there any solution that is applicable for a wide audience?
A few thoughts—
- If the quality is set low (or your media is in an unsupported format), it will be downloading converted files, which is much slower than downloading the original.
- Check the server logs and see if the requests are coming from LAN or WAN. If your network has DNS rebind protection on (c.f. https://support.plex.tv/articles/plexamp-network-connectivity-tips/) then Plexamp will be looping back through your router, which can be another source of slow transfers.
- WiFi is notoriously flaky…
