I’ve tried this again just now with the latest version of the iOS app and a freshly upgraded Plex Media Server. The details in my last update from June of 2022 otherwise still apply Slow downloads using the new 'Downloads' feature - #129 by JacksonB
I am seeing a 5Mb/s transfer speed when remote over wifi to the Plex iOS client on my phone. I set my client settings for “Original Format” instead of “Maximize Compatibility” to limit any CPU bottlenecks. At the time of testing, there are two active streams on my Plex Server combining for another 40Mb/s.
If I cancel my Plex client download and try to download the same file from the Plex web-ui in Mobile Safari, the Plex Server dashboard reports speeds past 250Mb/s. This can likely go higher but my work guest wifi is throttling here.
I am not able to immediately test the USB-C wired ethernet dongle until I’m home this evening but from what I can tell right now, iOS client download speeds are still an issue.
