I need help to find a solution for this issue…
I have an Ubuntu server with Hetzner (1Gbit upstream). Version is: 1.4.4.3495
I’m using directplay and it seems that the server can not send more than 2MB/sec, through Plex Media Player (looking at debug screen as well).
So I have tested the following with my downstream @ 50Mbit:
Apache server serving the MKV file: download at 4.3MB/sec - almost full speed
Plex Secure connections downloading file - peaks at around 22,5Mbps - average around 19Mbps
Plex INSecure connections downloading file - peaks at around 22,5Mbps - average around 19Mbps
What log files would you guys need to debug this? I hadn’t set internet upload speed - but I tried also to put 1000Mbps but still no change.
OK so more info from testing:
HTTPS + HTTP Pipelining ON = 20Mbps
HTTPS + HTTP Pipelining OFF = 20Mbps
HTTP + HTTP Pipelining ON = 20Mbps HTTP + HTTP Pipelining OFF = 44Mbps
Note these tests are while downloading the file from the web interface.
On Plex Media Player it caps again at around 20Mbps…
Should this be the expected behaviour?
I try to playback with Kodi using direct HTTP and I get again 44Mbps.
I use Kodi with PlexConnect and I get 20Mbps again.
Something is going on with the HTTP(s) server of Plex…
1.4.4.3495
I have the issue for some time - saw that something was fixed (it would be good to know exactly what) - and I updated this morning before testing and reporting all the above.
Can a mod please see the above and let us know in that thread what logs they might need or if they need root access to the server to debug this?
It is an issue that affects a lot of users that we have rolled back to 1.3.x to avoid the problem.
Unfortunately no replies by mods have been given to that thread (maybe because it’s public and not plexpass only?)
